Accompong Maroon Lifelines Project
Respecting Culture & Earth Foundation
Request to develop lifelines in the sovereign state of Accompong, Jamaica:
Water, Roads, Internet, and Product Distribution
This mountain community is cut-off without lifelines.
Internet, reliable water, and new income sources are essential to guarantee education, health, and economic well-being.
Diversification of the economy is imperative.
Tourism is the primary source of revenue. It is insufficient and unreliable for prosperity of all community members.
Accompong must remain a vibrant community.
Maroons’ rich legacy is a model for autonomy, freedom, courage, and respect. Admired across the globe, Maroons escaped enslavement and defeated the British in 1738. To this day, Accompong is a sovereign state governed by its own rules and traditions.
Goal: $155,000
Any amount will be appreciated and 100% used for the projects.
Donating $500 USD or more will address the urgent need to advance the health, education, and livelihoods of Accompong Maroon culture and community.
