Accompong Maroon Lifelines Project

Respecting Culture & Earth Foundation

Request to develop lifelines in the sovereign state of Accompong, Jamaica:

Water, Roads, Internet, and Product Distribution

  1. This mountain community is cut-off without lifelines.

Internet, reliable water, and new income sources are essential to guarantee education, health, and economic well-being.

  2. Diversification of the economy is imperative.

Tourism is the primary source of revenue. It is insufficient and unreliable for prosperity of all community members.

  3. Accompong must remain a vibrant community.

Maroons’ rich legacy is a model for autonomy, freedom, courage, and respect. Admired across the globe, Maroons escaped enslavement and defeated the British in 1738. To this day, Accompong is a sovereign state governed by its own rules and traditions.
